Chia

Is it just me or do Chia seeds look a little like uber-mini pinto beans?! So small, yet so super(food)! Chia is a good source of Omega-3 fatty acids (so no need to get them from fish if you're plant-based) which help raise HDL (good) cholesterol. They are also high in fiber, iron, calcium, antioxidants and they contain a little over 5 grams of protein per ounce. Chia seeds seem to be one of the most versatile foods to me right now. I put them in almost everything I eat! They make a wonderful addition to just about any dish!
